Miros Bilder strahlen immer etwas Positives, Fröhliches aus. Das inspirierte mich, seine Motive zu verwenden, um eine Mola zu machen. Das ist eine alte Technik, mit der die Kuna Indianer Panamas ihre Kleidung herstellten. Mehrere, verschiedenfarbige Stofflagen werden übereinander gelegt und die Motive aufgenäht. Wenn man eine oder mehrere Stoflagen wegschneidet, kommen die darunter liegenden Farben zum Vorschein. Ich habe eine 7-lagige Mola gemacht und einen kleinen Zickzack-Stich verwendet.
Miro´s pictures always have something positive and cheerful. That´s why I used his motives to make a Mola. This is an old technique which the Kunas (native Americans from Panama) used to make their clothes. Several layers of fabric in different colours are put one on top of the other and the motives are stitched on. Cutting out one or more layers reveals the colours underneath. I made a 7-layered Mola and I used a small zigzag stitch.
