Dieses schöne und luftige Kleid von Birger+Mikkelsen würde perfekt auf ein Festival passen. Ich habe es schon seit 2 Jahren, aber noch kaum getragen. Ich weiß auch nicht, warum. Jedenfalls ist es in diesem Sommer einige Male zu Ehren gekommen, dem Wetter sei´s gedankt!

This nice and light dress by Birger+Mikkelsen would be perfect for a festival. I´ve got it for two years already, but I´ve hardly worn it. I don´t quite know why. Nevertheless, this summer it was shown to its best advantage, thanks to the weather!

NICHT NUR COACHELLA / NOT ONLY COACHELLA

Endlich konnte ich mal wieder Fotos im Freien machen, ohne dass ich vom Winde verweht wurde oder die Kamera umgefallen ist!

Habe mir dieser Tage mal Gedanken zum Thema Festival gemacht. Man liest ja zur Zeit an jeder Ecke über Coachella. Und in allen Geschäften heißt die große Überschrift: Festivaloutfits. Diesen Hype habe ich in den vergangenen Jahren gar nicht bemerkt. Vielleicht habe ich ihn ja verschlafen. Oder haben der Einzel- und der Online-Handel wieder einmal eine neue Einnahmequelle entdeckt und suggerieren uns nun, dass wir ein Festivaloutfit (oder mehrere) brauchen?

Wie dem auch sei, dieser Boho-/Ethno-/Hippielook hat schon was. Ich habe diesen Style in den 60er und 70er Jahren schon getragen. Jaja, in der Mode kommt alles wieder! Die Gelegenheit, den Festivallook zu tragen, gibt es aber nicht nur in Coachella oder Glastonbury. Auch bei uns gibt es jede Menge Festivals oder Open Air Konzerte. In Köln z.B. fällt mir spontan ein: Rheinpark, Poller Wiesen, Fühlinger See, um nur 3 zu nennen. Ich brauche mir für solche Events eigentlich nichts Neues zu kaufen. Ich würde z.B. meinen schwarzen Jumpsuit tragen mit einem Streifenshirt und meinen Espadrilles. Dazu eine schwarze, selbst gemachte Basttasche und Ethnoschmuck. Wenn es abends kühl wird, ziehe ich meinen Ethnoponcho darüber. Na, bin ich so festivaltauglich? Was denkt ihr? (Ich habe aber noch andere Ideen!)

Thought about that festival thing the other day. Everywhere you go you read about Coachella. All around the shops you read: Festival outfits. I didn´t realize this hype at all in the past. May be I slept it away. Or is it an invention of the retail – or online trade to generate a new source of income and get us to believe that we need a festival outfit (or even two or three)?

Nevertheless, there´s something to be said for this Boho-/ Ethno-/ Hippielook. I wore this style in the sixties and seventies already. Oh well, everything is coming back in fashion. Actually there is many an occasion to wear a festival look, not only in Coachella or Glastonbury but here as well. We´ve got many festivals or open-air concerts, too. When I think about Cologne I know Rheinpark, Poller Wiesen, Fühlinger See, just to mention three of them. I don´t have to buy anything new for events like these. For example I would wear my black jumpsuit, a striped Tee, and my Espadrilles. A black, self-made bag of bast and Ethno jewelry go with it. When it´s getting colder in the evening I´d throw over my Ethno poncho. So, what do you think, am I prepared for a festival? (I´ve still got more ideas.)

CAMEL UND WEIß / CAMEL AND WHITE

Ich habe euch vor Kurzem meine Bikerjacke aus camelfarbenem Wildleder vorgestellt. Heute möchte ich damit einen anderen Look zeigen. Ich habe die Jacke diesmal mit weißen Schlagjeans kombiniert, die in diesem Frühling/Sommer ein Musthave zu sein scheinen, wenn man verschiedene Modezeitungen durchblättert. Meine sind schon einige Jährchen alt, also wieder einmal ein echtes Vintage-Schätzchen. Ich trage dazu ein weißes Shirt, camelfarbene spitze Pumps und ein passendes Täschchen. Die Ethnokette habe ich vom Amazonas mitgebracht. Sie ist aus den Kernen einer exotischen Frucht gemacht, deren Namen ich vergessen habe. Ich finde Camel und Weiß harmonieren super miteinander, findet ihr nicht auch?

Not too long ago I showed you my biker jacket of camel suede. Today I´d like to present another look with it. This time I´m wearing the jacket with white flare jeans, which seem to be a musthave this spring/summer as far as various fashion magazines suggest. Mine are a couple of years old – once again a real vintage darling. I´m wearing a white shirt, camel pointed pumps and a matching shoulder bag with it. I brought this ethno necklace from my journey to the Amazon. It´s made of the seed of a tropical fruit the name of which I´ve forgotten. I think camel and white go perfectly together, don´t you think so, too?

ETHNO SWEATER or ETHNO PONCHO?

Über Ponchos ist ja eigentlich schon genug geschrieben worden. Sie passen ja auch nicht mehr so recht zu den Frühlingsgefühlen, die sich ja allgemein breit machen (auch bei mir!). Aber in diesen Ethnoponcho habe ich mich sofort verliebt und möchte ihn euch nicht vorenthalten. Er hat nämlich etwas Besonderes, wie ich finde. Da er aus relativ dünnem Material ist, kann ich ihn auf verschiedene Weise tragen: Entweder als Pulli oder aber mit Bluse, T-Shirt oder Rolli darunter wie einen normalen Poncho. Ich zeige euch eine Frühlings-Variante mit heller Zigarettenhose und Slipons und eine Variante für kühlere Tage mit einer Bluse darunter.

Actually we have enough of reading about ponchos. They don´t really go together with the frisky feelings that are spreading out to everybody (me included!). But I instantly fell in love with this ethno poncho and I don´t want to withhold it from you. I think it has got something special. It´s of a light material and so it can be worn in different ways: Either as a sweater or for colder days with a blouse, a shirt or a turtleneck underneath like a normal poncho. I show you a version for spring with light cigarette pants and slipons and one for lower temperatures with a blouse underneath.

ETHNOPULLI MIT FRANSEN / ETHNO SWEATER WITH FRINGES

Der Ethnotrend wird uns noch länger erhalten bleiben. Daher habe ich nicht gezögert, als ich diesen schönen supergünstigen Ethnopulli noch kurz vor Sale-Ende entdeckt habe. Er ist so wunderbar gemütlich! In den Tiefen meines Schrankes habe ich eine perfekt passende Seidenbluse gefunden. Mit camelfarbenen Jeans und braunen Booties wird das Outfit ergänzt. Die Bluse und die Tasche gehören zu meinen Vintage-Schätzchen. Sie sind mindestens 15-20 Jahre alt. Von manchen Sachen sollte man sich nicht trennen, wie man sieht.

Ethno is a trend that will still last for a while. That´s why I didn´t hesitate when I discovered this nice and good priced ethno sweater right before the end of sale. It´s so wonderfully cosy. In the depths of my closet I found a perfectly matching silk blouse. Camel coloured jeans and brown booties expand the outfit. The blouse and the bag belong to my vintage darlings. They are at least 15-20 years old. Some pieces should definitely be stored, as can be seen.
